John Wilder, who has been seriously ill for some weeks, died
Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services at th ehome in Northside were
held on Thursday morning. An obituary will appear next week.

As noted last week the funeral of John B. Wilder was held on
Thursday, Rev. JB Johnson being in charge of the services at the
home. Burial at Maple Ridge Cemetery The following is the
obituary: John B, son of Harden and Deborah Wilder was born in W.
Virginia, Feb 5, 1849 and died on Dec 22, 1925 of a complication
of diseases, aged 76Y10M17D. He moved to Indiana with his parents
in early manhood and has since resided in Fountain and Montgomery
counties. June 4, 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Samantha
J. Alward. To them were born 3 children: one girl and two sons.
The girl and one boy died in infancy and James Wilder in 1913. In
1887 he united with the UB Church near Wallace. He was also a
member of the Waveland Odd Fellows Lodge of which he was a
faithful member. He was a farmer for a number of years. Later he
moved to town and followed teaming. He was an honest hard working
man, a kind husband and a good neighbor. Besides the wife, he
leaves one granddaughter, Mrs. Alta Case; two great grandsons,
Warren and John Case of Rockville; two brothers, Tom of
Veedersburg and Nat of Foster; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Walker
living near Elmdale; Nancy of Terre Haute and Mrs. Rose Johnson
of Danville, Ill; a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Those
who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Case and sons, Warren and John and Mrs. Sherman Call of
Rockville; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seits and Mrs. Nancy Martin of
Terre Haute; Nat Wilder and Alva Strawser of Foster; Mrs. John
Linker, James and Roy Wilder from Veedersburg; Mr. and Mrs. Ephie
Gooding of New Market; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Elmore of Alamo; John
Machledt of Montezuma, Charles Pool of Hillsboro, George Alward
and Mrs. Havercamp of Crawfordsville. - transcribed by kbz
